Almost $350 million in ELDEN RING sales on Steam in the first month of release

ELDEN RING sold nearly $350 million on Steam in its first month since release, according to GameSensor’s estimation. During the same month, about 6 million copies of the game were sold on the platform.

This success of the game, both in terms of sales and number of installations is accompanied by a high rating on the Steam platform, which is almost 5 stars out of 5. The PC version of ELDEN RING has been evaluated by the critics on the Metacritic gaming website equally well: 94 points from a possible 100. However, players on the same site gave it a score of 7 out of 10. Some players gave a low score to the PC version, justifying this by the presence of bugs and technical difficulties in the game, low frame rate, and unusual matching of keys for certain functions.

ELDEN RING was created by the Japanese company FromSoftware, which together with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment shared the duties of the publisher.

Looking at the overall statistics, ELDEN RING sales account for over 60% of the total sales of all five of the developer's games. Before ELDEN RING, the most successful FromSoftware project in terms of sales was DARK SOULS™ III. Comparing these two games, we can say that ELDEN RING revenue in the first month of release is about 12 times the sales of DARK SOULS™ III for the same period.

ELDEN RING is the third highest-selling game of all time on Steam.

Among players who have installed ELDEN RING on Steam, the vast majority of the audience, namely 55%, speaks English. Chinese is spoken by 24% of players and German, Spanish, Russian, and Korean each account for nearly 3%.

ELDEN RING was released on February 24, 2022, and is available on PC and the last two generations of Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
