Sales of Way of the Hunter on Steam amounted to about $3 million during the first month of release
Way of the Hunter is a hunting simulator game from Nine Rocks Games, in which, according to the developers, players will find dozens of detailed animal species with their lifelike animation, realistic firearms, large hunting areas, and the feature of analyzing animal tracks and blood spatter.
The game's release date on Steam is August 16, 2022. The price of Way of the Hunter on the platform at the time of release was $39.99.
According to GameSensor’s estimation, during the first month of release date, the number of copies sold of Way of the Hunter amounted to almost 100 thousand. As for the sale of the game, during this time, Way of the Hunter's revenue amounted to about $3 million.
But despite such financial results, not all players were satisfied with the product: on the aggregator website Metacritic, Way of the Hunter received 64 points out of 100 from critics and 5 points out of 10 from players. According to them, the game has a large number of errors and bugs, poor sound, and incomprehensible controls. On the Steam platform, Way of the Hunter received mostly positive reviews: the game's rating is 3.5 stars out of 5.
The publisher of the novelty is THQ Nordic studio. The most successful project of the studio in terms of sales is the game Wreckfest. However, if we compare it with Way of the Hunter, the revenue of Wreckfest during the first month of release is three times less than the sales of Way of the Hunter during the same period.
Almost 60% of the Way of the Hunter audience on Steam are English-speaking players. About 15% of users speak German. The rest of the players speak French, Chinese and other languages.
Way of the Hunter is available on PC and platforms such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
