Nearly $200 million in sales of Battlefield™ 2042 on Steam in its first month of release
According to GameSensor's estimation, Battlefield™ 2042 sold nearly $200 million on Steam in its first month of release. During the same time, almost 3 million copies of the game were sold on the platform.
However, despite these financial results, the Battlefield™ 2042 rating on Steam is 2 stars out of 5. Aggregator website Metacritic has also published negative reviews for the game: the players gave it only 2 points out of 10. According to them, the game did not meet their expectations because it was much worse than the previous parts due to a huge number of technical errors and the absence of many features that were in the previous parts of the game. As for the critics' score, it is 68 points out of a possible 100.

The game was released on November 19, 2021, on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the last two generations of Sony PlayStation consoles.
